Vaughan Gething is set to become the next first minister of Wales after winning the Welsh Labour leadership race. Mr Gething, 50, will become the first black man to hold the post, and the first black leader of any European country, after receiving 51.7% of the vote. He is expected to be confirmed as first minister by members of the Senedd on Wednesday, succeeding Mark Drakeford, who has held the position since 2018.
