Darren Jones, the shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, says if Labour wins the next election, the party will be left with the “worst economic inheritance since the Second World War”. Mr Jones insisted Labour would bring a “decade of national renewal” if they were voted into government. He was talking ahead of a speech from shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves where she is expected to outline Labour’s economic plans if put into power.
