‘The PM has been shot’: Slovakian parliament suspended after assassination attempt

Video shows the moment that chimes rang out in Slovakia’s parliament followed by a short message informing members that the prime minister had been shot.

Reports on the Slovakian TV channel TA3 said the country’s populist prime minister, Robert Fico, was shot in the stomach after four rounds were fired outside the House of Culture in the town of Handlová, about 100 miles (160km) north-east of the capital
