US President Joe Biden has formally opened NATO’s 75th anniversary summit in Washington, D.C. He will also be hosting a dinner for NATO allies and partners at the White House. Biden has sought to reassure supporters at home and abroad that he’s capable of continuing as president, as doubts about his fitness for office are overshadowing his re-election campaign. Some world leaders have reportedly expressed their concern over President Biden’s performance in the presidential debates with former US President Donald Trump.
In a prime-time TV interview with George Stephanopoulos designed to dispel concerns about his mental fitness, US President Joe Biden said only "the Lord Almighty" could make him drop his candidacy. His critics were not impressed.
