Paris 2024: Thousands sail the Seine for opening

The Paris 2024 Olympics have begun with the opening ceremony taking place on the River Seine.

Thousands are watching athletes sail down the river in this unique stadium-free event. Tens of thousands of police and soldiers are on security duty, but the day is marred by an attack on France’s rail network. Shadia Edwards-Dashti reports.
