Uganda’s Olympic marathon runner Rebecca Cheptegei has died from burns following an alleged attack by her boyfriend in Kenya. Doctors tried to treat the wounds on 80% of her body but were unable to save her. One third of all Kenyan women are subjected to violence at some point. Women’s groups are calling for more action against gender-based violence.
