At least three firefighters and a public servant have died in a wildfire in South Korea, prompting the government to declare a state of emergency in southeastern regions, officials said on Saturday, March 22.
The fire broke out in Sancheong County on Friday afternoon, while multiple other wildfires have spread across the country. The Korea Forest Service reported 16 separate fires on Saturday alone.
