US President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for TikTok to find a buyer, just hours before the current deadline was set to expire. He says the company now has another 75 days to find a new owner.
The popular video-sharing app could be shut down in the U.S. if it doesn’t part ways with its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. Many in Washington believe the app is controlled by the Chinese government, and there are widespread concerns about what it does with the data of its mostly young users.
