The Government will "pass emergency legislation in one day" to protect the British Steel plant in Scunthorpe, Sir Keir Starmer said.
He was speaking after announcing that the Commons was being recalled for an emergency debate on Saturday.
The prime minister said the future of British Steel "hangs in the balance" and the UK’s economic and national security are "all on the line".
