The paths toward escalation, negotiation or regime change | DW News

After US strikes on Iran, US President Donald Trump signaled he is willing to resume talks with the country. But a short while later, he mentioned the possibility of a regime change in the Islamic Republic. In a post on social media, Trump said: "It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!"
While many Western leaders have called for de-escalation, the Iranian Regime is threatening major retaliation against the US.
