Germany busted trying to inject Poland with illegals: Poland sends 5,000 troops to German border as tensions mount

German police vans are trying to drive into Poland on small dirt roads in the forests along the Polish-German border and drop off illegal migrants. A Polish Citizens Patrol movement has been launched to guard the border and stop the procedure. This time the Germans got caught.

Poland is sending 5,000 soldiers to its border with Germany starting Monday to stop migrants, especially failed asylum seekers, from crossing back into Poland. This move might increase tensions between Poland and Germany. Soldiers will also patrol the border with Lithuania, checking vehicles for migrants and using drones to monitor the area, with help from the Polish Air Force. Poland’s leaders say this is to protect their country and control illegal immigration, which they see as a growing problem. Poland has been frustrated with Germany for pushing migrants back across the border, claiming it goes against EU rules.
Illegal immigration is a major issue in Poland, with many citizens and leaders worried about its impact on jobs, security, and national identity. In 2023, Poland reported over 20,000 illegal border crossings, mostly from Middle Eastern and African countries, fueling concerns about crime and cultural integration. Poland’s strict stance stems from a belief that unchecked migration could strain public resources and destabilize society, especially after seeing other EU countries struggle with similar issues. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the border controls are needed to limit “uncontrolled” migrant flows.
Germany offered to work together on border patrols, but Poland’s Defense Minister, Waldemar Kosiniak-Kamysz, rejected the idea, saying Poland will handle its own borders. This disagreement comes as many EU countries, including Poland and Germany, have brought back border checks in the Schengen area, where people usually travel freely without passports. Public frustration with illegal immigration is growing across Europe, and some far-right groups in Poland have even formed civilian patrols to stop migrants, raising concerns from human rights groups after reports of migrants, like an 18-year-old Afghan, being forced back into Germany.
Tusk has criticized these far-right groups, accusing them of trying to weaken Poland’s official border security. He also warned that Poland’s patience is running out with Germany’s border policies. Germany, under Chancellor Friedrich Merz, has cracked down on illegal immigration, reducing refugee arrivals by 60% since the pandemic—the lowest in years. However, Poland says this has shifted the migration burden onto them. The situation is further complicated by Poland’s new president, Karol Nawrocki, who supports the civilian patrols and calls them “citizen-led border control,” adding to the political tension.
