In October 2023, Nada lost all her siblings and her grandmother in Israeli strikes on her home in Gaza.
Trapped under the rubble for hours, she nearly had her leg amputated.
But a photograph taken by journalist Motaz Azaiza helped her access medical treatment in the US, where she now lives — showing how reporters in Gaza are literally saving lives with their work.
