Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has accused the Trump administration of trying to “impose colonial authorities” on his country in order to seize its natural resources.
In recent days, under the banner of “anti-drug operations,” Washington deployed military ships in the Caribbean and destroyed three boats after they left Venezuela, killing at least 14 people.
