Chris Philp is asked about the home secretary’s plan to reform migration law, so that those granted the indefinite leave to remain in the UK must show they are contributing.
The shadow home secretary pivots to talk about illegal migration, though and says the Conservatives "would support measures, which actually are going to get control of our borders".
He points out his party is calling for the Human Rights Act to be suspended for immigration matters, so that every person who illegally crosses the English Channel could be immediately deported.
