14 Turkish activists from Global Sumud Flotilla return home after Israeli detention

Fourteen Turkish activists illegally detained after Israel’s attack on the Global Sumud Flotilla returned to Türkiye on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

Their Turkish Airlines flight departed Amman at 4:35 p.m. and landed in Istanbul at 6:50 p.m., where they were welcomed by families, officials, and supporters waving Turkish and Palestinian flags.

Earlier, 131 activists from various countries detained after Israel’s interception of the aid flotilla crossed from the occupied West Bank into Jordan. Israeli naval forces had seized the flotilla late Wednesday, detaining more than 470 activists from over 50 nations attempting to deliver aid to Gaza and challenge Israel’s blockade.
