Venezuela’s opposition leader has dedicated this year’s Nobel Prize to the Venezuelan people and to Donald Trump, after beating the US President to the award he’s always coveted. María Corina Machado was chosen for promoting democratic rights in Venezuela and trying to achieve what the Nobel committee called a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy. Machado says Trump has been a strong supporter of their fight for democracy. Exit polls in Venezuela’s election last year showed the opposition had won but President Maduro claimed victory, meaning re-election for a 3rd term. Paul Hawkins reports.
