US Vice President JD Vance said Türkiye has already played a "constructive role" in implementing the agreed-upon Gaza ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, during a press conference on October 21 in Israel. Vance also expressed "great optimism" over the process, despite repeated ceasefire violations by Tel Aviv since the agreement took effect on October 10.
