US President Donald Trump is threatening the BBC with a billion dollar lawsuit over what his lawyers say were ‘defamatory’ edits to a speech he gave just before the 2021 US Capitol riots. The British broadcaster has admitted to using the misleading edits and issued an apology. The scandal has prompted the resignations of the BBC’s top executive and its news chief.
