Türkiye’s first unmanned combat aircraft, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, completed a historic test flight by locking onto an F-16 target and scoring a simulated hit with the national air-to-air missile GOKDOGAN, Baykar said.
The UCAV took off from the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdag’s Corlu district, flying for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 4,500 metres, performing formation manoeuvres with F-16s, and verifying national radar and munitions integration.
Using ASELSAN’s MURAD AESA Radar, KIZILELMA detected and locked onto the target F-16 from 48 kilometres, marking a key step toward air-to-air combat capability. With this test, its total flight time exceeded 55 hours.
