‘Targeting the cemetery … a political objective’

Al-Qassam Cemetery in Haifa has faced repeated Israeli violations over the years, despite its historical and religious significance.

The site is the burial place of Palestinian resistance icon Izz al-Din al-Qassam, who was killed in 1935.

Palestinians say the targeting of the cemetery is part of broader Israeli efforts to undermine Islamic endowments and erase Palestinian identity, with al-Qassam’s grave recently threatened with exhumation.
