Germany has exepelled a Russian diplomat on suspicion of carrying out espionage activities. The diplomat is alleged to have had links to a woman who has been arrested on suspicion of spying for Moscow.
A statement issued by the Russian embassy in Berlin said the expullsion would quote "not go unanswered". The expulsion comes at a time of heightened tension between Berlin and Moscow over Russia’s invasion in Ukraine.
