A man who left his partner paralysed in a brutal attack after she told him she was leaving him has been jailed for 16 years.
Speaking after the sentencing, Trudi Burgess thanked the justice system for bringing her justice and "some level of peace and closure".
Asked how she feels, she said: "I feel incredibly sad but content that justice has been done."
