Iran is stepping up attacks on shipping in the Gulf, and oil and gas facilities in neighbouring nations. For Tehran, the rising price of energy is leverage against US attacks. Several vessels and oil facilities were set ablaze in the early hours of Thursday morning. The International Energy Agency has announced more than 30 countries will collectively release 400 million barrels of their own strategic oil reserves. Simon Anderson reports.
