Pro-EOKA groups, marking the Greek Cypriot nationalist terror group’s founding anniversary, attacked civilians in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Footage shows attackers, from Greek-administered Cyprus throwing stones and explosives towards people gathered at a park near the border area dividing the capital Lefkosa.
The attack took place in an area under the responsibility of both the Greek Cypriot leadership and the UN Peacekeeping Force. President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Tufan Erhurman, condemned the assault, which mirrors a similar attack last year.
