At least 70 people are missing and two bodies have been recovered after a migrant boat capsized in the Mediterranean Sea. The wooden vessel, carrying roughly 105 people departing from Libya, sank on April 5 in a search-and-rescue zone near the Bouri offshore oil field.
Thirty-two survivors arrived on the Italian island of Lampedusa early Sunday. The NGO Mediterranean Saving Humans strongly condemned the incident, stating the shipwreck was not a tragic accident, but rather the direct result of European government policies that refuse to establish safe and legal entry channels.
