Pope Leo has marked his first Easter as pontiff with a call for hope in the face of global conflict, using his Easter Mass at St. Peter’s Square to urge world leaders to end wars and abandon ambitions of power and domination.
Speaking to thousands gathered in the Vatican, the pontiff, who has been an outspoken critic of the Iran war, warned that the world is becoming increasingly desensitised to violence.
