War has left nearly 42,000 Gazans with life-changing injuries

The World Health Organization says Israel’s war on Gaza has left nearly 42,000 people with life-changing injuries. Most remain trapped inside the enclave, but some have been medically evacuated. Ahed Bseiso was able to leave Gaza in 2023 after an Israeli attack led to the amputation of her leg. She is now in Belgium, where she still needs further surgery. Rights groups accuse the Belgian government and the European Union of failing Palestinians in need of urgent medical care. Shadia Edwards-Dashti reports.
