Protesters marched through the streets of Vienna to denounce Israel’s inclusion in the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, slamming organisers for refusing to issue a ban.
The backlash has escalated into the largest boycott in decades, with five nations, Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, the Netherlands, and Iceland, withdrawing from the competition entirely over Israel’s ongoing wars in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran.
During the demonstrations, protesters carried banners bearing the names of those Israel killed since the beginning of its genocidal war in Gaza.
