Israel’s continued blockade and attacks on hospitals in Palestine’s Gaza have deepened the crisis for kidney dialysis patients, leaving hospitals without essential medicines and supplies.
A shortage of sodium bicarbonate powder has forced dialysis sessions to be cut from three four-hour sessions a week to two three-hour sessions, reducing weekly treatment from 12 hours to just 6 hours and placing patients at greater risk.
