A major fire broke out at a recycling centre in London’s Deptford on August 18, with around 50 tonnes of household waste believed to have burned. Fifteen fire engines and about 100 firefighters tackled the blaze. Residents were advised to keep doors and windows closed. Rail services from the area were also disrupted. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
