73 civilians injured by Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia

At least 73 civilians — including women and children — have been injured in attacks by Yemen’s Houthis targeting energy infrastructure in southern Saudi Arabia, the Saudi-led military coalition said.

Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki said on Tuesday that the Houthis launched “senseless attacks” against civilian and commercial sites in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran.

The Houthis said on Tuesday that they had attacked energy sites belonging to oil giant Aramco in southern areas with drones and ballistic missiles.

Satellite images showed smoke emanating from the Abha Bulk Saudi Aramco distribution centre and the area around the Saudi Aramco Jazan refinery.

The Houthis declared a maritime blockade of the kingdom and began attacking Saudi ships in July.
