Death toll nears 1,400 with more than 5,000 people missing

Nearly 1,400 people are now confirmed dead while almost six-thousand are still missing, two weeks after the devastating flash floods in Nepal. Both local and international teams are continuing the desperate search for survivors, with specialised teams working in tunnels blocked by mud and debris. The Nepalese government says more than 13-thousand people have been rescued, including 300 foreigners. But the floods have destroyed infrastructure including roads, bridges, energy facilities and thousands of homes.
