Nine municipal workers in Huancayo, Peru, suffered severe burns on October 14 after occupants threw a petrol bomb from a second-floor window during a forced eviction operation.
The Provincial Municipality stated that the operation was a legally authorised intervention to clear unauthorised structures blocking public transit. However, community advocates have raised concerns over the enforcement of forced evictions.
