Gaza’s Health Ministry has confirmed that over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed by retaliatory Israeli strikes since Saturday’s Hamas incursion. The strip is densely populated with more than two million people living in a 25-mile stretch, so there are fears of further significant civilian casualties in Israel’s campaign. In Israel, some 1,200 people have been killed as a result of Hamas action.
