Shadow education secretary Bridget Phillipson says she expects the government to pass legislation to get the embattled Rwanda scheme off the ground. Ms Phillipson told Sky’s Kay Burley: “You would expect a government with a majority that size to have no difficulty passing its legislation. “Quite what individual Conservative MPs do is a matter for them. They’re just fighting like rats in a sack the whole time over this, and I think the country deserves a lot better.”
