France is to extend its overnight curfew, already in place in Paris and eight other metropolitan regions, to an additional 38 administrative departments from midnight Friday. Prime minister Jean Castex said the curfew would now impact a total of 46 million people, or two-thirds of the French population, and would include some overseas territories.
