Chang’e 6, a 53-day-long robotic mission, seeks to make the first ever attempt at collecting material from the far side of the moon and deliver it to Earth for analysis. The mission is a joint Chinese-Pakistani venture, with the Chinese rocket carrying Pakistani satellite ICUBE-QAMAR. The rocket will be launched from Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan province, China. It will be Pakistan’s first foray into lunar orbit. The mission is named after Chinese goddess Chang’e. The launch is expected to take place at 9:17 am GMT, on May 3rd, 2024.
