The US secretary of state has told Israeli leaders that “much more needs to be done” to get humanitarian aid to civilians in besieged northern Gaza, raising possible consequences if action isn’t taken, according to US officials.
Anthony Blinken met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, as part of a regional tour that Washington sees as a chance to revive diplomacy after Israel’s killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza last week.
Elsewhere, the Israeli military said they killed the heir tipped to succeed the late Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in an air strike nearly three weeks ago.
