Routine vaccination against three of the main causes of death in children – malaria, respiratory infections and diarrhoea – began in Chad at the end of October for children aged 0 to 23 months. A major step forward in a country where, according to the World Health Organization, nearly 30% of deaths will be due to malaria by 2023.
