Hamas militants have informed Israel that eight hostages set to be released under the current Gaza ceasefire are dead. Israel says its assessment matches the Hamas list. 33 captives are to be freed under the six-week truce, with seven already released. The development comes as hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are crossing into northern Gaza for the first time in more than a year. Many are making the journey on foot.
