Man arrested in connection with North Sea collision | BBC News

A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter over the North Sea collision, police said.

One of the ships, the Solong, is still alight after it collided with a US oil tanker, Stena Immaculate, according to its owners.

One crew member of the Solong is unaccounted for and the working assumption is that they have died, a UK minister said.

Owners of the cargo ship said it was not carrying sodium cyanide, as previously reported, but had four empty containers that had once held the toxic chemical.
