The justice system in England and Wales is at risk of "total collapse" unless "drastic action" is taken to ease the backlog of cases.
Sir Brian Leveson, chairman of the independent review of the criminal courts, told Sky News years of chronic underfunding combined with an increased complexity of cases had piled pressure on the system.
