Protesters rallied across Indonesia, as the military was deployed in its capital Jakarta after at least six people were killed in nationwide demonstrations over lavish perks for lawmakers.
The unrest, which began on August 25, was fueled by outrage over MPs receiving housing allowances nearly 10 times the minimum wage, but weeklong protests forced the government to cut the controversial benefits.
