It is the start of a new school year in Ukraine — the fifth since Russia’s full-scale invasion started. Many Ukrainian pupils spent part of their first day back in bomb shelters, as Russia continued its latest bombardments. Air strikes killed at least 12 people in Kyiv overnight. Russia’s defence ministry said Moscow hit military and energy facilities in Kyiv and Odesa overnight, as well as regions surrounding these cities.
