Britain’s King Charles III hosted a state banquet at Windsor Castle on Tuesday for Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, praising the country’s peacemaking efforts and quoting a hadith of Prophet Muhammad in Arabic.
This is not the first time the King has spoken Arabic at an official event. In December 2024, he welcomed Qatar’s Emir to Buckingham Palace in Arabic. In 2013, it emerged that Charles had taken Arabic lessons when he was still a prince.
