Russia has said it is waiting to be briefed by Washington on the outcome of the US-Ukrainian talks in Saudi Arabia before commenting on the proposed ceasefire.
It comes after Ukraine said it was ready to accept a 30-day ceasefire if Russia did the same.
The Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that he did not rule out the possibility of a phone call between Russian President Putin and US President Trump, adding that it would be organised very quickly if needed.
