Activists from the “Geef Tegengas” (Push Back) movement blocked a railway leading to the Port of Rotterdam on Tuesday, June 24, protesting the port’s involvement in NATO logistics and the transport of F-35 fighter jet components to Israel.
The demonstration coincided with the opening day of the NATO summit in the Netherlands.
Protesters criticised Rotterdam’s role in facilitating military shipments to Israel, particularly those connected to the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
They demanded a full arms and trade embargo on Israel.
The protesters, who had chained themselves to the railway tracks, were later removed by police.
