It is one of the most sensitive and sacred sites in the world – Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem. Palestinians say Israel’s excavations beneath the holy site could weaken its foundation and may lead to its collapse. Israel insists that the dig is part of archaeological work. But many Palestinians fear that it is a political project aimed at altering the site’s identity. Mohammad Al-Kassim has this report from beneath Al-Aqsa.
