Did foreigners pay to shoot civilians in Sarajevo? | DW News

Three decades after the siege of Sarajevo, a disturbing chapter of the Bosnian War is resurfacing: foreign so-called “weekend snipers”, who allegedly paid to shoot at civilians trapped in the besieged city. Italian prosecutors have opened an investigation into what were termed by some as “Sarajevo Safaris.” We travelled to Italy and Sarajevo to find out what the families of the victims hope this investigation may finally deliver.
