Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said an OpenAI agent gained unauthorised access to Services Australia’s public Medicare statistics portal, reaching public and non-public files in June.
He said he told OpenAI chief Sam Altman of Australia’s “extreme concern” and said the company took far too long to notify the Australian government, and that the manner of the notification was also " unacceptable".
No personal data is believed to have been taken in the breach, but investigations are underway as to whether other government websites had been compromised
